When I first started Blessed Nails Co., the name came from my faith.

I believed God gave me a gift with my hands. And no matter where life took me, I trusted His hands would always be over mine.

I just didn’t know how much that name would eventually mean to me.

Becoming a mom changed my whole life.

Between motherhood, co-parenting, life, and trying to figure out who I was at only 20, I started losing myself.

And nails slowly became one of the things I questioned too.

I thought about quitting. Getting a part-time job. Doing something easier and just focusing on being a mom.

But even when I wasn’t sure about Blessed Nails Co., my clients never gave up on me.

They kept booking. They kept coming back. They kept supporting me.

And without even knowing it, they were reminding me that I didn’t have to lose Maya just because I became somebody’s mom.

I could be both.

Becoming a mom also changed the way I want to serve my clients.

I know what it’s like to want to do something for yourself, but you have your baby with you. I know schedules don’t always go as planned, and sometimes finding someone to watch your child is the only thing stopping you from doing something for you.

So if you’re a mom, bring your baby. Bring your little one. They’re always welcomed here.

I’m a mom too. I understand.

You don’t have to stop being somebody’s mom to sit in my chair and just be you for a little while.

And for a while, I really felt like I was finally starting to find me again too.

I was getting excited about nails again. Excited about Blessed again. Excited about what I could actually turn this business into.

And then life changed again.

In July, I lost my brother.

And I won’t lie, it feels like a piece of me went with him.

But somehow, losing him woke something up in me too.

I’ve never been more motivated to do nails than I am right now.

I want to work harder. I want to build something real. I want to become everything I know I can be.

Because now, I want to do it for him too.

I just want to make my brother proud.

Blessed Nails Co. started as a name inspired by my faith.

Now it’s a reminder of everything my hands have carried me through.
